Undula Generator Testing - 2018, LUV
Green Energy Inspired by Nature:
In 2015 Louisa Ulrich-Verderber began Undula Tech - a project aimed at making renewable energy accessible and affordable to ordinary people all over the world, by taking inspiration from nature.
The Undula Generator is designed to be mounted on rooftops or sides of buildings, along roadways or in tunnels, or in flowing water like rivers or tidal flows, as a non-invasive hydro turbine.
Project Milestones:
2015 - First sketches and concepts created.
2016 - Provisional Patent filed.
2017 - CAD model 1.0 designed.
2018 - First functional prototype assembled.
2019 - Awarded a spot in the Biomimicry Launchpad, a business acceleration program hosted in Panama City, Panama.
2019 - Research paper submitted to the AIAA Technical Conference.
2020 - US Patent awarded(Patent No. US10756596).
2020-2021 - Design featured in the Atlanta Museum of Design’s (MODA) “Learning from Nature” exhibition.
2021-2025 - Design under further development as a hydro-turbine.
Concept Inspiration - Cuttlefish Fins
